-----------------------------------------------------
BUG FIXES
-----------------------------------------------------

* Fixed the problem of wrong frequencies in FFT view when capturing data
  using external clock pingpong
* Some minor bug fixes.

-----------------------------------------------------
KNOWN BUGS
-----------------------------------------------------

* In some circumstances, the display scroll bars
may disappear when loading a saved configuration
while GageScope is in full screen mode.

* Gagescope cannot display the preview information
for the SIG files larger than 4 GBytes.

* The PreTrigger edit box on GageScope GUI always
shows the value entered by the user even if it is
out of the range supported by the CompuScope
card. GageScope will however coerce this value
and the acqusition will be performed with the
   correct value of PreTrigger.

* When saving file with a DC offset using EON cards,
   saved data can be corrupted.

* Single channel CSUSB devices have a continuity
issue when capturing more than the DMB buffer.

* Mulrec captures that exceed the DMB buffer size
will force a trigger timeout on the later records.
Set Trigger Timeout to Infinite to get around
   this issue.

* The trigger timeout field value is not saved in
the configuration file if the trigger mode is set
   to Normal.

* When restoring the configuration of multiple
cards, clicking on the black signal display will
speed up the loading of the different dialogs.

* The General and Setting tab settings are not saved
   in the configuration file.

* When using complex triggering with a Razor
Master/Slave set, the board will sometimes not
respond to the trigger. To fix the issue, abort
the capture and restart the capture.

* Sometimes, the signal display will stop being
refreshed. The user needs to close GageScope and
restart it to get the display to refresh again.

* There is a 2 GigaSample limit to reading the
correct trigger address of a saved Sig file. The
user can still load in Sig files larger than
2 GS but figuring out the section to load in
could be confusing. Such files, however, are
   stored correctly.

* There may be a discrepancy between the displayed
DC offset and the actual DC offset when using a
EON card in the +/- 5 volt range.

ABOUT GAGESCOPE
-----------------------------------------------------

Welcome to GageScope 3.8, the new generation of
PC-based and traditional data acquisition, analysis,
creation, monitoring, and control software from GaGe.
GageScope 3.8 combines advanced data acquisition and
storage capabilities with time and frequency domain
analysis as well as high-speed display to computer
screen, all without having to write a single line of
programming code!

GageScope 3.84 has the power to meet the needs of a
wide variety of applications. GageScope 3.84 software
provides a communication link between a personal
computer (PC) and selected data acquisition and
generation products from GaGe.

* No Programming Required - Works Out of the Box.
GageScope brings all of the advantages of the
Pentium processor, Windows operating system and the
Internet to the CompuScope cards without requiring
the user to write a single line of programming code
or draw diagrams. It works straight out of the
  box!

* Automatic Detection of CompuScope Cards.
GageScope automatically detects the presence of
CompuScope cards in the system, bringing true
Plug-n-Play functionality to the Test and
  Measurement user.

* Simple Interface, Complete Control.
Change such settings as sample rate, trigger depth,
timebase, input range, and so on, with a click of
the mouse. All options are viewable on-screen
instead of in menus and dialog boxes.

* Dynamic Display.
Adjustments made to any GageScope settings are
automatically reflected in the Display Window.
Change the sample rate, channel mode, timebase,
vertical scale, and other settings on the fly.

* Use Deep Memory Zoom to fully Zoom In and Out of
long data acquisitions. Deep memory acquisition
really comes to life with zooming capability of
GageScope. You can view the entire record (up to
2 GigaSamples) and then zoom in on the area of
interest. Click on the Zoom tool, select the
portion of the signal that is of interest to you
and Zoom In to a specific sampling range.

* Scroll through the Signal using familiar Windows
scroll bars. Now you don't have to scroll
through large sets of data using a slow and
ineffective scroll knob on a traditional DSO.
You can use standard Windows horizontal and
vertical scroll bars to view different portions
  of the signal.

* Import Signals into Reports and Manuals.
Capturing signals in the Windows environment
allows you to effortlessly bring the waveform
plots into word processing documents such as
  project reports and product manuals.

* Remote Control of your CompuScope Cards.
GageScope can be run remotely using standard
Windows utility programs. This allows you control
over your CompuScope cards even when you are not
  physically in the laboratory.

* Simultaneous Time and Frequency Domain Display.
Now you can view captured signals in both time and
frequency domain using the powerful FFT
  capabilities of GageScope.

* Save Signals and Setups to Disk.
A virtually infinite number of signals can be
saved using GageScope. Saving signal files in
binary or ASCII format allows you to post-process
the data using analysis packages such as MATLAB,
Excel, Mathcad etc. Setup files can also be saved,
allowing you to easily go back to a previously set
  up experiment.

* InfoView.
Not only does GageScope allow you to capture
signals and make measurements, it also provides
results which can be displayed in the InfoView
  window on the screen.

* Flexible Printing.
If you use GageScope, you can print to any
Windows compatible printer or fax, including
network devices, to get a hard copy of your
  measurements.

* Free File Viewing Capabilities.
Signal files saved by GageScope can be viewed by
your colleagues on as many different stations as
you desire, using the Demo version of GageScope
(installed from the CD or downloadable from
  www.GageScope.com).

* Independent Timebase and Sample Rate.
Have you ever wanted to capture a signal at a very
fast sample rate, but view it with a long timebase?
CompuScopes with deep memory are capable of doing
so, but many DSOs are not. GageScope allows you to
decouple sample rate from timebase for more
  flexible measurements.

* Independent Vertical Scale and Full Scale Input
  Range.
Almost all oscilloscopes on the market assume that
the signal they are measuring does not have enough
dynamic range to acquire more than 8 divisions
(256 rows of pixels across 8 divisions) on the
oscilloscope screen. While this is true for an
8-bit DSO, it is not so for CompuScope cards which
can have as much as 16 bit resolution which would
require 65,536 pixel rows to do justice to the
  dynamic range.

As such, GageScope completely decouples Vertical
Scale from Full Scale Input Range, allowing the
user to scroll up and down on any vertical portion
  of the signal.

* Unattended Transient Capture with Time and Date
  Stamp.
Optional AutoSave analysis tool for GageScope
allows completely unattended transient capture and
storage to disk. A date and time stamp is also
included with the saved data for record keeping
  purposes.

* Advanced Analysis Tools.
GageScope advanced analysis tools currently include
  Waveform Parameters, AutoSave, Averaging, FFT
Analysis, and the Extended Math. These analysis
tools dramatically enhance the functionality of
  GageScope.

-----------------------------------------------------
DEEP MEMORY SUPPORT ENHANCEMENTS
-----------------------------------------------------

Faster decimation:
                  GageScope now has improved the
                  decimation algorithms for skip
Sample and Mean Max for use on deep
                  memory acquisitions resulting in
                  increased display speeds and screen
                  refresh rates.

Default MinMax decimation:
                  The default decimation method and
                  factor have been modified to
                  provide more meaningful information
in decimated view; we now control
                  the decimation factor via the
                  Buffer Size.

Deep Memory Zoom: GageScope now offers the ability
to select a portion of the
decimated view and fetch the raw
                  data from the board, thus
                  displaying a variable-sized
                  portion of the acquisition without
                  decimation.

Deep Memory SplitFile Saving and Replay:
It is now possible to split a very
large acquisition in as many files
as the user wishes to create. This
allows for easy transfer to other
                  applications for analysis purposes,
as well as playback in a fashion
                  similar to MulRec and AutoSave
                  Playback.

Save and Load Undecimated Data:
While it is still possible to save
a very large file, it is now easier
to re-load a selected portion of the
                  saved file, effectively allowing the
                  user to perform analysis using
GageScope on any range of data from
                  a deep memory capture.

-----------------------------------------------------
GAGESCOPE PROFESSIONAL TRIAL
-----------------------------------------------------
Customers may choose to run a FREE 21 day, 50 session
Trial, which allows them access to all features of
the Professional Edition for a limited time.

Please note that you will not be able to take
advantage of the Professional Edition trial once you
have installed the Lite or Standard editions.

-----------------------------------------------------
USING GAGESCOPE WITHOUT COMPUSCOPE HARDWARE
-----------------------------------------------------

Dynamic Demo Mode support has been removed from
GageScope. The CompuScope drivers now support the
addition of CompuScope Virtual Systems, which are
simulated CompuScope systems that may be accessed
from all CompuScope application software.
Consequently, Dynamic Demo Mode is no longer
necessary since the user may install the CompuScope
drivers, create a CompuScope Virtual System, and
then simply run GageScope as usual. For more
information on installing a CompuScope Virtual System,
please refer to your CompuScope PCI hardware
manual or the CompuScope driver readme.txt file.

The signals from a CompuScope Virtual System look and
behave just like real input signals, allowing the user
to perform operations and analysis on the signals.
